We are at the end of the year. I believe that many people now enjoy holidays with family and friends. Well, I’m not traveling this time. However, I just talked to some friends and we shared some good memories while traveling on holidays.

How to sleep well is always an important thing while traveling. In particular, on a flight, on a train or on a bus, it might not be easy to sleep well because you probably can’t lie down.

In our life, something unexpected might happen. We can’t predict what will happen. But, we can be well prepared. On a trip, we might need an emergency plan, just in case.

Left

On the last day of a trip, we left a hotel and headed back home. I usually check very carefully before leaving because I don’t want to have anything left.

Pick up

“Remember to turn right after you pass through customs.” A friend texted me to let me know that he was waiting for me at the airport.

Some weird collections

Traveling is fun. While traveling, I like to collect playing cards from different countries. However, sometimes, I did collect something that might be unnecessary or weird.

On sale

Shopping might be extremely important for some people while traveling. Some might go to an outlet, a department store or a shopping mall. There are several choices to go shopping. But, it’s important to go at the right time.

Miscommunication

This might happen during a trip. In particular, we probably use a second language to communicate while traveling.

Protest

I was watching a baseball game on TV in September and the game suddenly stopped. It turned out that some people were just running into the field. Protesters ran with a banner on the field and the security caught them.

Parking

Road trips are something worth trying and it’s a good way to travel. However, finding a parking slot could be a problem.

Size

It’s one thing that is very interesting while traveling. Size. The definition of small, medium and large is not exactly the same in each country.

Taxi

Normally, taking a taxi is not an ideal option for me while traveling. However, it might be the only option, sometimes.

Closed

I was going to a store, trying to find something for souvenirs. However, I couldn’t even enter. There was a banner and it clearly showed “closed”.

Advertisements

I like marketing and like to understand marketing campaigns in different countries. When I’m traveling, I would stop by to see a TV commercial on a big screen or advertisements in a shop.

Good host

Airbnb has been frequently used as a good way to book accommodation during a trip. There are several options available, you can book an apartment, book a house or just book a room in an apartment.

Late

Normally, I am punctual because I don’t want people to wait for me. Additionally, I think it’s impolite to let people wait. However, I made mistakes sometimes.

Taxi (Delivery service)

You can see a taxi or call a taxi almost everywhere. However, each one has different experiences in taking a taxi. I don’t take a taxi very often. Nonetheless, taking a taxi could be the one and only option during a trip, sometimes.

Roommates

 

A good thing about traveling is that you can meet travelers around the world and understand different lifestyles from other countries. I did meet many good friends while traveling.

Non-verbal communication

Communication is important in our life. However, we can’t speak all the languages of the world. Sometimes, non-verbal communication is necessary and could help us on several occasions.

Adapter

An adapter is necessary if you are going to travel in a country where power outlets are different from the country you live in. It’s always better to prepare adapters before traveling, so you won’t have to spend extra time looking for adapters while traveling.

Booking confirmation

Last month, I booked a hotel online and a staff member of the hotel was calling to confirm. The staff was really nice and she said that they will call again to check when I will arrive at the hotel.

On time

Being punctual for me is necessary because I really don’t like to let people wait. Additionally, it’s important to be on time while traveling. Otherwise, there will be some troubles.

Traveling while young

After checking into a hostel in Amsterdam, I entered the room and said hello to some “roommates”. We quickly introduced ourselves and talked a bit.

Crowded

 

“We might have some problems on the first day in Japan.” A friend said this before our trip to Japan.

Weather

The more I travel, the more I know that something is not under my control. For example, the weather is not something that someone can control.

When I was in college, a professor indicated that he used to travel in Edinburg, Scotland and saw the grave of Adam Smith. He’s teaching economics and he said that it’s not a bad idea to see the “founder” of economics.

From camera to phone

On a trip, people would like to capture memories. One good way to do this is to take photos. I did take a lot of photos while traveling.

Many people are on holidays in the summer. One of my colleagues was heading home for the holidays in July and most of my friends decided to go on holiday in August. In addition, there are still some friends who will take holidays in September.

I used to go to a church with my neighbors near my home every Saturday when I was a kid. Back then, I didn’t know much about religion and the importance of a church. However, after visiting many churches while traveling, I learn a lot about history and architecture.

First destination after being vaccinated?

 

Many of my friends already got vaccinated. Some of them are fully vaccinated and some got the first dose. Vaccination has become a key topic for us and in the future, travelers may have to show covid vaccination report before traveling.

On a flight, we might enjoy in-flight service such as movies or video games. However, things are not exactly the same while traveling by train.

Small is good

 

A couple of days ago, I was cleaning the house and found an old photo album. That album helps me recall some memories of visiting some small towns. Well, I used to visit big cities and I also went to some small towns that are very interesting.

Meet politicians on the road

Well, we meet people while traveling. I mean, normally we meet people, even if you are going to the Himalayas, you will still meet people. Occasionally, we might see a super star. For example, some friends saw Shakira and Pique in a club. When I travel, I see politicians.
