Parking

Road trips are something worth trying and it’s a good way to travel. However, finding a parking slot could be a problem.

Some friends and I went to Washington, D.C. to see the cherry blossoms. We went there by car. When we arrived in D.C., we needed to find a parking slot. Hence, we had to read the description carefully and tried to see if there was a free parking slot. It took us a while to find a parking slot. Some free parking slots are only for residents, but none of us are from Washington, D.C. However, things were much easier the next day. We arrived in D.C. on Saturday and parking is free on Sundays. I don’t know whether parking is still free on Sundays now. But, we could easily find a free parking slot on that Sunday. Moreover, a friend also told me a problem that he encountered while traveling in Europe. He was driving in Spain and had to find a space to park his car, so he could go for lunch. He was checking if there was a space on the road and he found a car was going to leave. However, the wait was a bit longer. The car driver seemed to be in a little bit of trouble moving the car and the car actually “touched” the car behind it. He was waiting for a few minutes and the car driver still couldn’t make it. My friend decided to find another parking slot on another street. Road trips are worth trying and many of my friends like to travel by car. However, it’s very important to understand the traffic rules in each region and the parking regulations. In particular, driving in some city centers could be very challenging and finding a parking slot will take a lot of time.
