A friend sent a photo to me. Well, I don’t look good in the photo. It’s a photo of me taking a nap on a train in Japan.
At that moment, I was a bit tired. And, for me, I think that it’s safe to take a nap on a train in Japan. While looking at the photo, I just recalled a story that another friend told me.
He’s from the Netherlands and speaks several languages. He has traveled to many countries. In particular, he used to travel alone to Latin America. He told me about traveling in Latin America and we chatted about transportation in Latin America.
He demonstrated that it’s not safe to sleep or take a nap on a bus because you might lose your luggage. Hence, he didn’t sleep on a bus when he was traveling in Latin America. Nonetheless, in Asia, for example in Japan, he thinks it’s quite safe.
A key thing about traveling is safety, indeed. When I travel alone, I basically don’t sleep on a train or on a bus. But, sometimes, I did. For example, I took a bus from Boston to New York at midnight. I was tired and I had to take a break. I slept on a bus and I held my bag. I was so scared of losing my bag. Additionally, I took a night train from Paris to Milan. I certainly had to sleep on a train. If I stay awake the whole night, I won’t have energy for the next day.
Again, I laughed when I saw the photo that my friend sent to me. Nonetheless, an important thing is that I know that my friend is there. That’s something good when you travel with some friends. By helping each other, you can create more memories and share something unforgettable.
