Hotel

I just finished a meeting with a Japanese client. They indicated that they would like to take a business trip to have another meeting with us in the coming weeks.

In the meeting, they told us to provide some suggestions regarding the hotel. There will be a huge group of people to come. Nonetheless, they have to be careful with the budget.

They listed some requirements. And a requirement is the price per night of a hotel room. They don’t want to see the price too high. Well, the client is a huge corporation in Japan. But looking at the requirements, I can understand why they insist on certain things.

I don’t know the internal rules. Nonetheless, I believe that there is something that they have to follow. In particular, they also demonstrated who will stay in that hotel. They clearly told us their requirements and expectations.

Previously, I took business trips. Well, there are requirements. However, there is something needed to adjust. For example, you cannot use the same standard in China, Japan or in Europe because there are different standards of living. The prices of hotel rooms aren’t exactly the same and the prices per meal in each country are different.

Every time I organize a business trip, I always have to calculate the budget carefully. I try to understand transportation, living, eating and so on. Sometimes, I have to prepare gifts that must be included in the budget. With this project with this Japanese client, I learned something different regarding the business trip. The way they plan a business trip is a little bit different from what I know. And there’s something that I didn’t take into consideration and in the future, I might put something on the list in order to make a better business trip plan.
