Gambling scandal

In late March, a huge news alert was shown on my phone. It was about illegal gambling on sports.

 

That news certainly shocked the sports industry in America and Asia. Well, I’m not going deep about this incident. However, there’s something I can learn from this incident.

 

Betting or gambling is not legal in many countries. While traveling, there’s something that a traveler has to pay attention to.

 

Betting or gambling can be fun while traveling. However, you have to understand the rules of the destination you travel to. For example, in some states or countries, you can bet online, but you can’t bet in-person. Additionally, if you bet online, you have to bet on the legal platforms. Moreover, you have to go to the legal betting sites. Hence, there’s actually a lot worth paying attention before betting or gambling.

 

Some people like to go to a casino during a trip. For example, some might go to a casino in Las Vegas, Australia or Macau. It could be fun to go to a casino and sometimes, you may “earn” some money in a casino. For example, a friend used to  travel to Macau. As she said, her husband was very lucky during the trip, and they “earned” enough money to pay for the entire itinerary. Furthermore, you may taste good food in a casino.

 

Going to a casino isn’t a bad idea during a trip. Betting isn’t a bad thing to do. Betting helps some countries generate revenues by inbound tourism. Nonetheless, before taking a trip, it’s necessary to do some homework if you plan to go to a casino or bet. You have to understand the local rules of betting and know which casinos are legal and trusted. Most importantly, you just go to a casino for fun. Don’t bet crazily and don’t overbet.
