Retirement announced

A few months ago, I watched a YouTube video. A well-known captain announced that he was going to retire this year.

Well, he’s still young. However, after flying for more than 25 years, he chose to retire. He had been a pilot for several airlines. He fulfilled his dream of flying. He indicated that being a pilot, he has to sacrifice several things. For him, it’s time to say goodbye.

Watching the video, it’s clear that it wasn’t an easy decision. Being a captain is his dream and he has worked extremely hard to make it happen. After being a captain for 25+ years, the final duty would eventually come. He kept saying that he would have a lot of things to do after retiring from his job.

After watching the video, I just thought about several things.

Well, he just finished his final duty as a captain. For me, I really don’t know when the final trip will come. I would like to travel to as many countries as possible. I would like to experience different cultures, lifestyles and events around the world. Nonetheless, there’s a key thing to keep in mind.

Last year, a baseball legend came to a stadium overseas. That trip was his final trip because he’s 83 years old and he might not be capable of taking flights. He’s an athlete and he’s a fighter. He defeated the cancer. While watching his story, I understand the importance of being healthy. Without being healthy, you can’t make many things happen.

Moreover, it’s important to enjoy every trip. You really don’t know what will come first. Traveling is a cool thing to do and we all want to have good memories. Hence, enjoying a trip is certainly a first step to create good memories. And, if there’s a place that you really want to go, just start planning now.
