Duty free shop

A few weeks ago, a new member joined the company that I work for and we are currently working on some projects.

Previously, she worked at the headquarters of a well-known duty free retailer. Well, I don’t have a rich knowledge about duty free products or duty free shops. However, by traveling to so many countries, I more or less passed by some duty free shops and of course, I might buy some merchandise in duty free shops.

Nonetheless, I’m not going to talk too much about those merchandise in duty free shops. However, there’s something interesting while visiting those shops at each airport. Of course, at some airports, there are not so many products available.

For me, duty free shops sometimes are good places to visit while traveling. For example, previously, I used to go on a business trip, which I had done a lot of things, and I didn’t have free time. So, when I finished the business trip, the only choice I had was to buy some merchandise in a duty free shop at the airport. I quickly bought some gift-packed products before boarding.

In addition, one time, I already purchased so many souvenirs during a trip and there was little space in the luggage. However, after checking in, I realized that I forgot to buy some souvenirs for my cousins. Therefore, I went to a duty free shop and quickly bought some souvenirs for my cousins.

My colleague didn’t tell me too much about those merchandise at duty free shops. However, we did talk a lot about designs and decorations at several international airports because she used to collaborate with cross functional teams to work on several projects at the international airports. Well, next time, when I go to some airports, I will surely take a closer look at those areas that my colleague used to dedicate time to.
