The 2022 Qatar Football World Cup has been one of the hottest topics recently. Football fans are talking about the matches and many people who don’t follow football can even watch lots of news. This event definitely attracts attention around the world.
I love football and like to watch football matches frequently. Moreover, I like to visit different football stadiums. While watching some football matches, I just recalled some memories.
Several years ago, I went to Warsaw, Poland. I was there for summer holidays and one day, I decided to join a city tour. It was a walking tour and the local tour guide was truly amazing. And, I still remember this story he shared.
The tour started from the Warsaw old town and the tour guide quickly gave us a brief introduction. Then, he pointed to a football stadium. Poland and Ukraine used to co-organize Euro 2012. “Stadion Narodowy” was one of the major stadiums. The tour guide is a football fan, however, he wasn’t satisfied with the Poland National Football team.
The tour guide was just complaining that the Poland National Football team wasn’t good and the team didn’t win many matches. Furthermore, he emphasized that the only match the Poland National Team won was a match against San Marino. Then, we couldn’t stop laughing.
I don’t really remember what else he said during the tour. However, that joke was just so unforgettable. But, the tour guide should be more satisfied with the Poland National team these years. At least, the team reached the knockout stage and there are several Polish football players that are world-class. Well, I hope that tour guide has enjoyed watching the team’s matches in the Qatar World Cup. And, no doubt, football is one thing that can be talked about everywhere and while traveling, it’s not a bad idea to start a conversation about football.
