Guest house

Before traveling, we always have to think of a key thing, which is the place to stay overnight. We can book a hotel or a hostel. We might ask a friend to host us. Previously, I used Airbnb to book a good place to stay. Also, a guest house is an option. A few years ago, a friend asked me for a favor, which was to help her run the family-owned guest house. I like traveling, but I didn’t have any experience in operating a guest house. Well, it wasn’t only me, my friend also invited three other friends. The first two days, my friend quickly guided us to know the guest house and told us what to do every day. So we can know the operation of the guest house. Overall, it wasn’t too difficult or too complicated. Just remember key things to do everyday. However, the interesting part is to interact with guests or tourists. One week, there were national holidays and the guest house was fully booked. In that week, we have to do everything fast and precisely because our time is limited. In the morning, we prepared breakfast early and made sure that all guests would be satisfied. After breakfast, we had to clean as soon as possible, at the same time, we had to help some guests check out. Later, we had to clean rooms and get those rooms ready for incoming guests. You always see some guests want to check in early and having a good plan before cleaning is truly important. Normally, we were extremely busy between 9am and 2pm, during this period, we didn’t even have time to drink a cup of water. Nevertheless, it wasn’t always that busy. Sometimes, there were only a few guests to stay. We didn’t have too many things to do and we can enjoy the sea view because the guest house is near the sea. Also, we had some fun time with guests and they shared their travel experience, sometimes, they asked us for recommendations. It was really great to see them enjoy the stays. I didn’t work too long in that guest house. However, it was really fun. Just met guests around the world, cyclists from Czech, families from the United States, couples from Hong Kong and many more. I love traveling and I also enjoy seeing them travel and have fun.
