mi casa, tu casa

I was asked to support an event. It wasn’t a complicated task, but there were several senior leaders and the organizer would like me to share my experience.

Overall, the event went well. During an event, I met a leader, who I used to collaborate with his secretary. Well, he was one of the top leaders of the country, so I needed to collaborate with his secretary.

The leader asked me to guide him because he would like to leave. I asked him to follow me and we were going to take an elevator. In the elevator, we talked a little bit about the event, which was organized a long time ago. I also showed him a photo.

He was so surprised and asked me to share the photo with him.

That was an event to let foreigners live in a local family’s house. It was a fun event and it generated several cultural exchange ideas. It wasn’t easy because it’s not easy to let a foreigner live in your house. Many of my friends don’t even let me stay in their place.

Nonetheless, with so many families participating, the event became a good one. I don’t want to call it successful, but I can tell that many of them are still in contact with the family which hosts them. That was truly a good start for many international friendships.

I remember that many people asked me if the event will be re-organized again. Well, I explained the uniqueness of that event and told them why the event was held. They all understand what I mean. Nevertheless, for me, it will be great to organize it again and there might be something interesting going on again.

And, while traveling, I used to hear a friend tell me this, “mi case, tu casa”. That always makes me think about the event again.
