I met a leader who used to work in a government sector and lead a bank. He’s an expert in banking and finance. I read some books that he wrote. He’s also interviewed by a lot of media.
He can always share insightful ideas or information. After meeting him, he sent me a link. It was an interview by an NGO and the topic is about the stablecoins. I spent some time watching the video, which wasn’t a short one.
After watching the video, I asked him some questions. At the same time, I think about the coins or currency.
On my very first trip, all I had was cash. I had to pay in cash. So, I need to carefully put cash in my pocket or any bags that can’t be reached by others. Well, a stupid thing was that I used to put cash in my shoes and socks. It’s not ideal, you know what I mean.
Later on, with more experience of traveling and more ways to pay, I have a credit card and an IC card for transportation. I don’t really need a lot of money with me. As technology evolves, things have changed. Now, we still pay via credit, cash, IC card (in many countries) and mobile applications. There are a lot of ways to purchase online and offline, indeed.
After watching the video, I was just thinking about the future of travel. Perhaps, I won’t need any cash with me in the future? Moreover, do we still need a credit card? If stablecoins or something related to this, we might not even need to change money and we don’t have to monitor the exchange rate. Well, that’s something worth thinking about. I don’t know if this will happen or will become real soon. Nevertheless, I know that technology will re-shape the experience of traveling in many ways.
