Price

I saw an influencer sharing his opinion on Threads. It’s a post, which indicated the price of beverages in different retail channels.

Those beverages are from Japan. Hence, they are imported. And the prices are more expensive than the prices in Japan.

Well, there’s an interesting discussion. The beverages are important. However, the influencer mentioned the different prices on different retail channels. In particular, in a local retail chain, the prices are way cheaper than the other retail channels. He demonstrated that he couldn’t understand why there’s a huge difference.

That’s something worth noticing. Indeed, there are costs of importing products. Hence, the prices of imported products won’t be the same as you saw in their home countries. Nonetheless, how to set the correct price to your customer is always an important topic.

For me, I like to taste different beverages from different countries. While traveling, I like to choose the local beverage brands, so I can taste something local. However, global trade is very common in most of the world. You can easily see some imported beverages or snacks from other countries. Thus, it’s normal for me to buy some imported beverages, snacks or even wine in the local retail channels.

But I usually check the price carefully. If some beverages look just so expensive, I will usually buy them when there are discounts. It’s ok to wait. Nevertheless, there’s an exception. Sometimes, there’s only an importer to import this product. And there aren’t any special prices. Well, I have nothing else to choose. Tasting imported food or beverages is normal in our daily life. There are a wide variety of choices. Some importers or vendors set a relatively high price, for me, that’s fine. The most important thing is to let the market and consumer decide what they want.
