google maps

I was chatting with my friend about planning a trip. He has been to several countries with his wife and my friend shared some stories about “getting lost” in the train station.

Indeed, it’s actually quite easy to get lost in a huge train station in Japan. I remember that I was in Shinjuku station and it took me a while to run to the meeting point with other friends. Additionally, my friend also indicated that he used google maps first, so he can avoid encountering some problems.

When he said that, I just recalled a story, which was in Shinjuku as well. I was planning to go to a shop in Shinjuku. I had its address, but I didn’t google it in advance. When I arrived in Shinjuku, I put the address on the google map and used the GPS to ensure my location.

Nonetheless, something weird happened. On the google map, it clearly showed that I had arrived. But I didn’t see the store. I walked around and was wondering if there’s something wrong. In the end, I found the store. It’s in a department store.

Well, that’s certainly an important lesson for me. I couldn’t read Japanese, so I just put the address on google map. Nevertheless, I didn’t notice that the store is in a department store. I actually arrived at the department store, but I can’t precisely know where that store was.

After this lesson, if I plan to go to a store on a trip, I will surely check it on the google map in advance. Moreover, I’ll also check the photos. So, I can see what it looks like and I will also carefully check if it’s in a department store or a building. Indeed, if you know how to utilize google maps, you can make a trip easier.
