I just finished organizing an event. It’s one of the well recognized events and a key thing to do for this event is to arrange the hotel related things.

 

It’s not easy to arrange hotel rooms. I had to collaborate with the hotel management team and the client side. Their expectations aren’t the same. For me, I had to communicate frequently between two parties and identify the best possible solutions. In the end, we were able to arrange the hotel related things. Nonetheless, there are still things to solve during the process. For example, the hotel management team didn’t arrange the booking well and there was an overlap. Thankfully, we solved the problem.

 

Well, that was something that happened in one hotel. At the same time, we collaborated with the other hotel as well. Things were a bit easier with this one. This hotel only hosted our client this time. So, they can customize almost everything for the client. In the end, most guests were satisfied when they stayed at this hotel.

 

For me, this is certainly a huge thing to learn. There are so many things to consider. Even in a 5-star hotel, they are still unable to fulfill something. You have to think carefully and think ahead. Otherwise, you might encounter something unexpected and you don’t know how to react.

 

Moreover, it’s important to identify the hotel management team. It’s important to seek advice from several parties. For example, it might be important to check with travel agencies and so on. We didn’t choose the right hotel chain to collaborate with and we faced so many problems during the preparation. Next time, I will certainly check if there are better options. And it’s important to prepare early. Otherwise, the trouble will come again and again. I’ll surely remember this event to make the next event even better.
