Sri Lanka

I saw a post on Facebook. A former supervisor uploaded a clip of her trip to Sri Lanka. It seemed that she had a great trip.

 

Sri Lanka, it’s a country that I’ve heard about for a while. However, I truly have little knowledge about it. But I remember a person from that country.

 

Around 10 years ago, I took a flight from Europe to Asia. It was a long trip and I had to take a transit flight in Dubai. When I arrived in Dubai, it was midnight. And I had to go to another terminal.

 

Since it was midnight, I was a bit tired. However, I still tried my best to identify the right route to the terminal. I was waiting for an elevator and saw a coffee shop. It seemed that I had enough time. So, I decided to get a cup of coffee.

 

I ordered a cup of coffee. And the staffer asked me where I was going. I told him the destination and asked him where he came from. I tried to make a guess, but I was wrong. The answer is Sri Lanka. He’s probably the first person I know from Sri Lanka.

 

He told me that he came to Dubai for work and he got used to living in the city. Well, I didn’t chat a lot with him because I had to take the flight. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the talk and the coffee.

 

I still remember that night in Dubai. I don’t know if he still stays in Dubai. Nevertheless, every time I hear of Sri Lanka, I always think about that person. My supervisor told me that it was worthwhile to take a trip there. I guess it will be cool if I can make it. But now, I’m going to grab a cup of tea from Sri Lanka.
