I was working in a library. In the library, most people were students. They came to the library for just a reason. Yes, they were trying to get good grades in the exam. And I saw an interesting thing on a table.
It’s like a shrine with a bird. It looked like a gift from Japan. Well, I don’t know the main reason why it was there. Nonetheless, I guess it might be something related to luck or something good.
For me, it was quite interesting to see something unexpected in a library. However, seeing that interesting thing, I just recalled a story quite a while ago.
I used to work in a school for a short period of time. I didn’t stay long there, but I enjoyed being there with great colleagues. They were so supportive. On the last day, I finished my work and was ready to say goodbye to them. A teacher gave me a card with an envelope. In the envelope, there was a US dollar note. She indicated that the note will bring me luck and she wished me good luck in the future.
I haven’t seen them for quite a while. Nonetheless, I couldn’t forget that one US dollar. I’ve been traveling to several countries and have great memories of traveling, seeing different cultures and meeting great people. I’m not superstitious, but I can clearly tell that I still have that one dollar note with me.
I never asked that colleague the reason behind it. Nevertheless, I understand how kind she is and how friendly she is. By knowing that, I can firmly believe that she and other colleagues truly wish me the best in my life journey.
Now, for me, I think the thing is not about something that brings luck. It’s that I’m lucky to meet them and work with them.
