Cereal

I was chatting with a roommate in a school dormitory room. We were talking about breakfast.

I mentioned eating cereal for breakfast. My friend quickly responded that he didn’t like it.

Growing up in Southeast Asia, cereals occasionally were my breakfast. Nonetheless, it’s not that often. However, in high school, I went to Australia for a short trip. In the morning, I usually had cereal for breakfast. Hence, for me, eating cereal for breakfast for a whole week isn’t weird. Nevertheless, for my roommate, he didn’t really like to have cereal for breakfast.

An important thing on that trip in Australia is that I realized that eating cereal for a whole week is ok for me. Later on, I traveled to several countries. In a hostel or an Airbnb place, the most common thing to eat is cereal. Normally, a bowl of milk and cereal are enough for me. Well, sometimes, coffee and juice are available in the hostel.

Of course, it will be ideal if there are many choices for breakfast. Nevertheless, it might always be. For me, during a trip, a simple thing in the morning is to get some breakfast, so I have energy to start the day. I sometimes have cereal for breakfast and I found that some cereals are actually pretty good. In particular, some are tasty and healthy.

When I recalled that trip in Australia, there are so many great memories and something truly has huge impacts. It broadened my horizons and I gained more knowledge about eating cereals. Additionally, getting some cereal for breakfast works for me. And actually, I have tried several types of cereals in different parts of the world. That’s another interesting thing while traveling. Well, I still don’t know if my roommate is ok to have cereal for breakfast. Perhaps, he can try a little bit more now.
