Got something free

I talked to a friend in a hostel. He just came back from Japan and shared his trip in Japan.

That friend is a lucky person. He got a free flight ticket (round-trip) and he decided to take a trip to Japan.

Well, he doesn’t speak Japanese. However, he had an interesting talk with a Japanese man. They met in a restaurant in Fukuoka and they began to “talk”. Well, they tried to talk via google translate and it worked.

My friend indicated that their conversation lasted like 2 hours. The topics covered from international relations to different cultures. It was certainly an interesting conversation and another interesting thing is that the Japanese man offered him free beers and some food.

It’s fun to have a good conversation with someone who has a different background during a trip. Getting free food and beer isn’t bad.

I remember that I used to take a flight from Warsaw to Barcelona. On the way to Warsaw airport, I met a friend from Italy. We chatted a little bit and after checking in luggage. We decided to get a cup of coffee at the airport. When I was ready to pay, he said that he would pay for the bill. I appreciate that he offered me a cup of coffee and we had a good conversation.

I never met that friend again. Nonetheless, I still remember that day and some topics we talked about. Of course, that cup of coffee. Well, while traveling, it’s possible that someone might offer you something. Nonetheless, you have to understand why it’s free. Don’t take it for granted. If there’s something weird, it’s better to leave and say no. For example, some unknown people are offering free alcohol in a bar or something. You have to be careful and pay attention.
