top up

I went to Japan a few weeks ago. On the trip, I borrowed a “suica” from my friend. The main reason that I borrowed a suica was that I just couldn’t find my suica.

I’d searched for it for several weeks. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t find it. My friend has an extra suica. So, there’s no problem that he lent me one. An important thing about using the suica is that I have to top up. My friend just told me not to top up too much money.

In the end, I added 6000 Japanese yen in the suica and it was enough for me during the trip. Indeed, suica is an important card to use in Japan. With it, I can travel easily with public transportation.

Moreover, I found out that I use it more often. For example, it can be used in the convenience stores. I have some cash with me during the trip. I use cash in some stores and I don't think it was a good idea. The major problem is the changes. There are many coins and it’s a little bit annoying with so many coins at the same time.

Hence, next time, it’s highly possible that I will top up more money on suica and use it in some convenience stores or other stores that accept suica. Traveling has become so different. Previously, I had cash with me. Gradually, I use a credit card or a debit card. But I still have some cash with me. Well, for the next trip to Japan, sucia and credit card will be 2 most important things for me. I will use cash for 2 reasons. Firstly, some stores or temples only accept cash. In addition, I need cash to top up the suica. I really don’t want to have so many coins with me anymore.
