I was browsing a friend’s post on Threads. He indicated that he caught a cold and he hadn't fully recovered.
I quickly texted him to see if he felt much better. He told me that he already went to a hospital twice. It took much more time than he expected. He just didn’t feel well.
Thankfully, he got much better after taking medicine. However, that truly made me think several times that I wasn’t 100% fine during a trip.
One of my relatives was a doctor. Normally, before taking a trip, I would ask his advice to prepare medicine, just in case. The best thing during a trip is not to take medications that my relative suggested. Nonetheless, sometimes, something unexpected did happen.
I visited a friend in Europe and stayed in his apartment. My plan was to stay there for a week. Nonetheless, after the second or the third day, I just didn't feel well. I began to cough. I quickly took medicine, trying to erase some symptoms. I did feel a little bit better after taking medication.
However, the next day, after dinner, my friend asked me if I would like to have a beer. Well, well, well, I shouldn’t do that. Nevertheless, my friend already poured beer in my bottle. I tasted a cup of beer. It wasn’t a good decision.
Anyway, there weren't any other side effects after taking that cup of beer. But it wasn’t the right thing to do. I still keep in touch with that friend and every time, I always talk about that story. I say he’s a bad friend. Well, that was the only time that I drank a cup of beer while being sick during a trip. I won’t do that again and I know that I have to be healthy to travel to more countries.
