Temples and churches

I went to a temple a few days ago. In the temple, there were many people. And some tourist guides were introducing the ritual in the temple.

The temple is a well-known one. There are not only local people but also many tourists. I saw the tourists listen carefully. And some of them followed what the tourist guide said and did the ritual just as local people do.

While seeing those tourists, I began to think about some churches and temples that I went to during a trip.

If you search tourist destinations, you will see there are churches and temples on the list for sure. When I travel in Europe, I like to go to some churches or cathedrals. And I always try to understand the history and the architecture of those churches or cathedrals. For me, there is a lot to learn. However, I couldn’t remember everything for sure.

In some churches or cathedral, you can light a candle. Occasionally, I did it. Nonetheless, one time, I went to a cathedral with a friend and asked her if she would like to like a candle. She said no because she has a different religion.

In addition, when I go to Japan, I like to go to a shrine in Tokyo. The environment of the shrine is quiet and I like to walk on the road of the shrine. Walking in the shrine helps me stay calm and I always spend a couple of hours there. Moreover, I will follow the rituals as Japanese do to pray in the shrine. I don’t have a specific religion, however, while traveling, I like to go to some places like these. There is really a lot to learn, for example, you can see the designs and the styles and understand the reasons behind it.
