Passport expired?

A few days ago, I saw a post on Facebook and someone just published a story about a trip. And it was a trip with interesting “memories.”

Well, a lady shared a story about her husband’s passport. They decided to take a trip overseas. When they were at the airport, her husband checked his passport and realized it was going to expire very soon.

Her husband was so nervous and tried to figure out a solution. Well, I’m not going to share the full story. In the end, her husband got a new passport and they took the trip. However, they had to make some changes. For example, they had to change the flight because her husband couldn’t get a new passport on time.

They were still able to make it and that was a good story, eventually. Nevertheless, it’s avoidable. Firstly, it’s always important to check your passport before planning a trip. In particular, you have each country’s entry requirement. For example, before taking my very first trip to Europe, my passport was going to expire in a year. I asked a friend if this was fine. Then we checked with a travel agency to see if that satisfied the requirements. Thankfully, it was still valid.

Moreover, if your passport is going to expire soon, you have to search for information about renewing your passport. In particular, how many days does it take to renew your passport?

It was a good ending because that lady’s husband can renew his passport at the airport. Nonetheless, the passport renewing service might not be available at the airport in many countries. Hence, you might be forced to cancel the whole itinerary. Well, it doesn’t look smart if you forget to check your passport before taking a trip. Before taking a trip, you really have to pay attention to this.
