Around 2 or 3 months ago, I read news online and there was something that truly drew my attention. It was the news about Airbnb. Well, the news didn’t look good to Airbnb’s reputation. And if it’s true, Airbnb truly has to solve the problem.
I’m not going deep about the news. However, I would like to share my experience about Airbnb. Sometimes, I use Airbnb to book a place to live. Luckily, those landlords and hosts are very nice. They did help me in several ways. For example, a host provided pickup service. So, my friend and I didn’t have to worry about transportation.
However, some friends shared something they didn’t like. One day, there was an event, where we could talk to a senior leader in Airbnb. A friend indicated that the landlord didn’t manage the apartment well. That apartment was dirty and messy. Nonetheless, the photos were beautiful on the website. That leader demonstrated that it wasn’t allowed and asked my friend to tell him which property it was.
Well, I don’t know what that leader did after the event. Nevertheless, that’s something you have to understand before making a decision. Hence, for me, before booking an Airbnb apartment, I would always carefully read the comments, check those photos and the location, and of course, review my budget.
There are many accommodation choices and several platforms, each one can choose the one that fits his or her expectations. After reading the news, I will probably be more careful when booking an apartment on Airbnb and do a little bit more preparation before taking a trip. Indeed, it’s important to follow the news and trends to learn what’s going on in traveling. Well, I would like to see something positive. Nevertheless, there’s always something you have to pay attention to.
