Show your commitment

A few months ago, I talked to a friend from Portugal. The night was a match night and Portugal national football team was scheduled to play.

I asked him if he would like to watch the match. Well, he said yes but the next day, he might be really tired. Because we are in Asia and it was late night when the match started. I’m glad that he said yes and I indicated that he showed the commitment to his country.

Nonetheless, I also shared a story of another friend. That friend is a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. He went to 2 FIFA World Cups. The first time was in Russia and a few years ago, he went to Qatar. And that friend watched the matches that the Portugal football team was playing.

That friend from Portugal was so surprised. He’s a huge football fan, but he didn’t think about going to watch the national team playing in the World Cup. He showed the commitment to his nation. Nonetheless, he couldn’t believe that friend even went to Russia to watch football matches.

For me, I like sports. I like to see fans support their national teams and cheer for their national teams. It’s always fun to watch matches or games. I have seen so many fans or friends travel around the world to watch or participate in sporting events. Some of them just tried to fulfill their “dreams.” Nonetheless, for some friends, they have a strong commitment. They are willing to travel for long hours to support their national teams or favorite teams. For example, a friend is willing to collaborate with travel agencies because he would like to see more fans travel with him to go to other countries to cheer for the national football team. And he did it several times.
